| Eligibility | | | | Francophone schools welcome students who are eligible for French-language education in accordance with Section 23 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the Alberta School Act and district policies. In order for a student to be admitted, a parent must adhere to one of the following Charter’s criteria: - Whose first language learned and still understood is French;
- Who received primary schooling in French in Canada;
- Whose siblings were or are being educated at a francophone school in Canada.
In the spirit of Section 23, other categories of parents may be allowed to enrol their children in a francophone school while respecting the mission of francophone education. The final decision is made at the school board level. | | |
